Ferrostaal, originating from the Dutch company Ferrostaal N.V. and the German company Gutehoffnungshütte Aktienverein für Bergbau und Hüttenbetrieb (GHH), has developed into an industrial service provider with an international distribution network.

Completion of a turnkey biodiesel plant with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes in Poland.

Stadtwerke München and RWE Innogy are realising the solar thermal power plant Andasol 3 in the south of Spain in conjunction with MAN Ferrostaal, RheinEnergie and Solar Millennium.

As a result of the IPIC taking over the majority of shares MAN Ferrostaal AG changed its name to Ferrostaal AG; New Corporate Image promoted through Sponsorship with Manchester City Football Club.

Ferrostaal lays foundation for implementing further projects: In order to further expand its activities in North Africa and Algeria, Ferrostaal establishes the subsidiary Ferrostaal Maghreb SARL with its headquarters in Algiers.

A high efficiency tyre recycling plant was officially opened in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi at the beginning of November. The system line can process up to 8,000 kilograms of old tyres per hour, making it the largest in the United Arab Emirates.

Ferrostaal AG, Essen, officially belongs to MPC Industries GmbH, Hamburg.

Change in legal form: Ferrostaal AG becomes a limited liability company (GmbH).

Ferrostaal GmbH in consortium with the Brazilian company Tomé Engenharia S.A. received an order to equip six identically-built ships designed for the extraction of gas and oil off the coast of Brazil.
